Track Athletics
Here are my M60 track PBs so far.
Distance Location Time Open Equivalent
60m AIS 8.52 7.04
100m AIS 13.28 11.11
200m Woden 27.34 22.01
400m Woden 1:05.06 53.13
800m Woden 2:43.05 2:10
1500m Woden 5:31.48 4:20
3000m Woden 12:06 9:44
Only results from official races with full electronic timing are included, except for the 3000m which had partial.
All results are wind legal.
The open equivalent is the time a 25yo male would need to run in an age handicapped race to match my performance. If you want a simple explanation as to how this is calculated, read the Parkrun page on age-grading.
My 1500m performance is better in age handicap terms than my M55 result, my 800m is equal and my 3000m is only down by one second in open equivalent terms.
My sprint performances are down a bit, but still better than the best performances by any M60 Australian male at the last Oceania Masters Athletics event (2019, pre covid, excluding virtual events).
There, the fastest M60 Australian ran 13.74 (wind 0.6) in the 100m, and 27.90 (wind 0.6) in the 200m. Slower than my M60 PBs and a bit embarrassing for an event held in this country.
Australia does have a small number of masters athletes who make the podium at international events, but not so much depth of talent.
